DESCRIPTION:The second production of The Drama Group’s 89th season -TARTUFFE \nOpens December 6 at 7:30pm and runs thru December 15 \nWritten to coincide with the 2016 Presidential election\, this contemporary reworking of Moliere’s classic comedy and cautionary tale of frauds\, cheats\, scoundrels and interloper is set in the home of a wealthy businessman who’s duped into supporting the political campaign of an entirely unscrupulous charlatan. Over 350 years have passed since Moliere penned Tartuffe\, and yet it remains one of the most well-known and often-produced comedies in the Western canon. This is partly due to its potent afterlife—it’s ability to resonate with our present-day anxieties.

DESCRIPTION:The Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO) will perform a Holiday Concert on Sunday\, November 24\, 2019 at 4pm at Crete United Methodist Church\, 1321 Main Street\, Crete\, IL 60417. \nSYSO will present a program designed to let audience members see the way young musicians must grow\, the skills they must acquire\, and the ways they learn to make music together.  From beginners of the Enduring Strings program\, which serves students in the Crete United Methodist Church Before and After School Program\, to the young musicians of the Suburban Youth Symphony\, which serves students from across the south suburbs\, come see many of the stages through which all musicians pass – in one program! \nGeneral Admission is $10 per adult.  Children 10 and under are free.  For further information\, email theSYSO@gmail.com or visit www.suburbanyouthsymphony.org
